"Chants of "save our schools" echoed on Main Street in Antigonish Saturday morning as more than 70 people marched and voiced their concerns about the future of rural community schools in the region.

Organized by members of the St. Mary's school community in Sherbrooke, the Equality in Education March included supporters from communities such as Maryvale, Heatherton, St. Andrews and Canso.

Archibald said the march served as an avenue to deliver a message not only to the Strait Regional School Board and its members, but also the Nova Scotia Department of Education.

'We all deserve equality in education,' she added in reiterating that theme."
